Intel Itching To Work With Google?s Ice Cream Sandwich

intelsandwichIntel hasn't been able to make much of a dent in the smartphone or tablet markets, but they're not about to give up just yet. ComputerWorld reports that Intel is working to make Ice Cream Sandwich-powered devices a part of their future. The mobile space represents a huge opportunity for Intel, which is made all the more maddening because they've never really been able to crack it. Less than a handful of Intel-powered Android tabs ever saw the light of day, and most (like the Cisco Cius, which ran Froyo of all things) were geared heavily toward enterprise use.

(AP) ? Wearing white robes to symbolize purity and equality under God, millions of Muslims began Saturday their annual hajj pilgrimage by climbing a rocky desert hill outside Mecca.

Vast crowds of pilgrims started at dawn to ascend the Mountain of Mercy at Arafat, 12 miles (19 kilometers) outside Mecca, where Islam's Prophet Muhammad is said to have delivered his farewell sermon.

The ascent of Arafat is the first event associated with the five-day hajj. Saudi authorities say that an estimated 2.5 million pilgrims are expected to participate.

"I'm very happy today. I can't express my feelings," said Badr Olgach, a 41-year old construction contractor from Turkey. "I wish and pray for the best, for all the Prophet Muhammad's followers in the world," said the father of two.

Since late Friday, pilgrims assembled around the mountain have been praying and reading Islam's holy book, the Quran. While many were sleeping in tent compounds, others were setting up their small tents on sidewalks and streets.

This year's hajj takes place amid an unprecedented wave of anti-government protests in the Arab world that has toppled autocrats in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya. Uprisings have also shaken regimes in Yemen, Bahrain and Syria.

While Muslims see the hajj as a time to seek forgiveness for one's sins and for individual meditation on the faith, the unrest across the region remained at the forefront of the minds of many pilgrims.

"I wish for security to be maintained in my country. I pray to God that we in Syria be unified and stand shoulder to shoulder," said sheik Ahmed Garman, 37, who led a group of Syrian pilgrims from Aleppo.

Syria since mid-March has witnessed a bloody crackdown on protesters in which the U.N. estimates some 3,000 people have been killed.

After sunset, the pilgrims will leave Arafat and headed to nearby Muzdalifah, where they collect pebbles for the next phase of the pilgrimage ? the symbolic stoning of the devil represented by three pillars in Mina, just to the west.

The pilgrims then slaughter a camel, sheep or cow to celebrate the beginning of the Eid al-Adha, or the "Feast of the Sacrifice."

Muslims from around the world wait a lifetime for a chance to make the pious journey in the footsteps of the Prophet Mohammed and Abraham, whom Muslims view as a forefather of Islam.

On-line Automotive Loans | Articles Glow

If you really find this article helpful Give it a PLUS from below and help us to spread it.

We all like the Internet. We like the convenience of on-line purchasing because it?s quick and simple to buy something, including large buys like automobiles. Simply going to Ebay Automotive gives you thousands of selections to bid on when buying a car.

There are various different web sites that may also promote you a car. Each auto dealership on this planet appears to have their own web site, and then there are the generic websites like cars.com, usedcars.com, and newcars.com. So it?s straightforward to buy an automobile on the net, what about my auto insurance?

That you will see simply as simple, if not simpler than learning a place to buy an automotive on the web. Every automotive insurance company has their very own website after which once more, there are loads of generic auto mortgage brokers with websites as well. Many will declare to guarantee you the lowest rate of interest anywhere and can inform you how straightforward it?s to buy insurance by means of them.

But, one thing a lot of people have no thought is that interest rates for on-line loans tend to have larger rates of interest than loans you get in person.

That?s right. On-line automotive loans will cost you more than you may get from someone you?ll be able to contact by telephone or by visiting their native office.

Why would online auto loans be more expensive? I?m glad you questioned. The those who apply for loans online usually tend to have terrible credit according to most studies performed by the auto insurance industry.

For that motive, on-line auto loans have a higher rate of interest to offset the chance taken by the insurance company. That?s not to say that you cannot possibly learn a excellent rate in your auto mortgage online, but you usually tend to get a better price from a local broker.

Your native Credit score Union, Bank, and even the auto dealer?s preferred loan company are all probably to give you a better price on your auto loan. Purchasing round on the web, then going to your local options to match financing options is at all times advised.

Keep in mind that shopping for a car is among the main buys you make. The mortgage you get in your car is one you will be stuck with for at least a couple of years, so store for the best deal before committing to anyone.

You can find such a wide variety of options it?s going to amaze you. One lender may be offering interest rates which might be around 7.5% whereas others are providing 2% or even 0% auto loan financing. Why are different lenders offering such really different phrases for auto loans?

Again, I?m glad you questioned. Competition is simply one of many elements concerned in what an organization presents you to your automotive loan. One of many other elements are studies made by each individual company as to what is an excessive danger or low threat loan. For instance: If you buy a crimson car in Pennsylvania, you will pay extra in your auto insurance coverage than you?d if you had bought a white or blue car.

They?ve executed research there that say they pay out extra claims to people who personal pink automobiles than they do to people who own automobiles of other colors. Maybe they get more tickets, one agent I spoke with suggested. The police learn the purple cars more.

Whatever the cause, it goes to point out that there are lots of components that determine what you?ll pay in your auto loan. The truth that a better share of people that apply for online auto loans have very terrible credit than those that apply for his or her mortgage offline influences the rates you will pay for an internet loan.

I hope this text has been helpful to you and will encourage you to shop before you buy when it comes time to get your auto insurance. Make sure you are getting one of the best deal possible. Additionally, question the insurance coverage broker what elements are influencing the speed of your loan. It could make you change your thoughts about the type or color of car you are buying.

If you would like supplementary facts with respect to refinance auto loan, visit Idele Leidlwlekke?s web site this minute.

Small business borrowing up for 14th month

By Ann Saphir, Reuters

The growth of borrowing among small U.S. businesses moderated in September but the overall level still registered a 14th monthly double-digit increase in a fresh sign the economy is set to grow at a stable pace.

The Thomson Reuters/PayNet Small Business Lending Index, which measures the overall volume of financing to U.S. small businesses, rose 14 percent, after increasing a revised 18 percent in August, PayNet said on Wednesday.

Increased borrowing by small businesses points to better times for the broader economy because small firms account for the lion's share of new hiring. Companies use loans to buy equipment, and they need people to operate that equipment.

"We're entering this slow-growth, low-risk phase of the business cycle," PayNet founder Bill Phelan said in an interview. "The last time, that phase lasted four to six quarters."

The data comes as the Federal Reserve enters the second day of a two-day policy-setting meeting. A statement due mid-day on Wednesday may provide hints on how close it is to providing new stimulus to boost a recovery that Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke said last month was "close to faltering."

Two years into a rebound from the worst recession in decades, the United States is still dogged by 9.1 percent unemployment. However, there have been a few bright spots in data, including October auto sales, which pointed to the strongest showing since the start of 2011.

PayNet tracks borrowing by millions of small U.S. businesses, which cut back dramatically on borrowing in 2008 and 2009 but are now back to borrowing at levels close to those registered in 2005.

Meanwhile, a drop in delinquencies to a record low suggests companies are in better financial health, PayNet data show.

Accounts 90 days or more behind in payment, or in severe delinquency, fell to 0.41 percent in September, a record, from 0.46 percent in August.

Accounts in moderate delinquency, or those behind by 30 days or more, fell to 1.63 percent from 1.67 percent in August, PayNet said.

Accounts behind 180 days or more, or in default and unlikely to ever get paid, fell to 0.65 percent of total receivables in September, from 0.68 percent in August, according to PayNet, which provides risk-management tools to the commercial lending industry.

The Thomson Reuters/PayNet small business lending index is correlated to developments in the overall economy, with changes in the index preceding changes in the overall U.S. economy by two to five months.

PayNet collects real-time loan information, such as originations and delinquencies, from more than 250 leading U.S. capital equipment lenders.

HBT: Who will replace La Russa as manager?

Wanted: Baseball manager. ?Will replace legend. There is no way you can possibly top what happened last year. Possibility you won?t have the best player on the team next year. ?Must have reliable transportation.

So who bites at that?

On the one hand, replacing Tony La Russa might be a tough thing for a guy to do. ?There is nowhere to go but down and, given that this was the classic ?play blah baseball all year but get hot at the right time? kind of team, there?s a non-trivial chance that they will go down. ?Add in the fact that, at the moment, it?s unclear if Albert Pujols is coming back, and you might have to wonder who is crazy enough to take the gig.

On the other hand, if Albert Pujols does come back ? and given that Adam Wainwright should be healthy to start the season ? it could be the best possible job imaginable. ?St. Louis loves the Cardinals. They?ve shown that they?ll stick with a manager for a long time, even before La Russa. ?With Prince Fielder likely leaving the division in free agency there isn?t an obvious mega-team to contend with. ?Sweet gig!

Potential candidates/non-candidates:

  • Terry Francona: He?s looking for work. If Pujols comes back this is a win-now team and Francona has helmed a win-now team for the majority of the past decade. Same kind of gig, lower pressure, less clubhouse noise;
  • Dave Duncan: Duncan has never expressed interest in a top job and the list of pitching coaches who became good managers is pretty damn short. Like, Roger Craig and no one else, at least recently. Duncan and La Russa have always been a package deal anyway. It just doesn?t seem like the job would make a ton of sense either for him or for the Cardinals;
  • Mark McGwire: He?s in-house too, but he has zero managing experience and only two years coaching experience. How a team like the Cardinals could go from The Genius to The Novice so quickly is beyond me. And that?s before you realize that it would just lead to another winter of rehashing the old ?roids questions.
  • Jose Oquendo: My early favorite, not based on any inside knowledge, but based on the fact that he?s Jose Oquendo and was one of my favorite players when I was a kid. ?More seriously, he?s been with La Russa for a loooong time now, coaches third base and has, by all reports, been groomed by La Russa for a managing job someday, be it in St. Louis or elsewhere.
  • Terry Pendleton: The Braves first base coach and former hitting coach who, obviously, had a lot of time in St. Louis. He?s always been tremendously popular with Braves players since he began coaching and could be a good choice if the Cards are looking to keep a happy team happy. ?Worth noting also that, when he was removed as the Braves hitting coach, the Braves hitting went into the toilet. The man obviously has some skills.

Many more names will spin out of this, but those are who I got at the moment. ?Who do you like? I mean besides Whitey Herzog?
