We are currently seeking a Director for our Digital & Social Media practice in the Chicago office. The Director is an experienced digital marketing professional who would head-up managing digital and social content creation, counseling clients through the evolving social media landscape, advising clients and account teams on new digital initiatives and directing a growing staff of junior social media consultants.

Candidates must:
Possess superb execution and management skills: specifically, the ability to successfully present program recommendations, and establish relationships with senior clients as a trusted advisor
Have a deep background in content creation including writing, blogging, videos and some graphic design
Have hands-on experience and proven ability to understand and manage large, digital projects that include, but not limited to, web asset development, digital campaign orchestration, introducing and building a brand's social media presence, community management, web video production and/or earned media campaigns
Be comfortable managing junior staff, advising senior clients and being responsible for delivery of programs on time, on budget with superior results
Work collaboratively with traditional and digital media leadership team to create integrated online and offline campaigns that delivers client messages in virtual and digital spaces
Be responsible for conceptualizing, creating and implementing strategic new media counsel and direction to internal staff, existing clients, and to potential clients. This includes educating and recommending new media sources and technologies, programs, and activities that coordinate with client's goals and budgets and helping to augment existing programs with new media strategies
Have a thorough understanding and appreciation for the new media landscape, including online advocacy tools and campaigns, consumer Web sites, Web design, blogs, microblogging, podcasts, social networks, online community management, RSS, SEO, CGM sites, etc.

Primary Responsibilities
Develop a thorough understanding of our clients' brands and marketing/communication goals
Provide key data and analysis of new media to clients as well as internal account and management staff
Persuasively pitch online influencers (Web journalists to citizen journalists), coach and mentor staff members as they pitch online media, and make outreach recommendations
Oversee web asset development from concept to execution (Facebook, microsites, etc)
Harness advocates online using blogs, boards, video-sharing, and other digital media platforms
Develop and implement complex digital/social media engagement campaigns across a number of practice groups including consumer, healthcare, tech and corporate affairs
Create and execute accurate budget estimates for clients for long-term and short-term programs
Effectively liaise between staff and upper management
Participate in new business pitch development and presentations
Provide company-wide insight on emerging trends and online developments as they affect public relations and marketing

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. 7+ years of experience bringing digital campaigns to life using digital and emerging new media. Candidate should possess a thorough command of the social media and digital world (from the evolving social web to mobile tools and trends), sophisticated client service and digital communications skills, high energy and passion for this area of rapid change and innovation. Interactive, digital advertising and/or digital PR agency experience preferred.
